Dogecoin - the meme that never dies
Dogecoin [DOGE] was first launched on the 6th of December 2013 and was created by Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer as a light hearted and fun cryptocurrency. It was created as a joke but has thrived in the roughly 6 years it has been around and is often used to "tip" people on social media like reddit small amounts using tipping bots. It's all time high during the crypto bubble was $0.017 and the price has recently risen a small amount (as of late August 2020) due to a trend on tiktok to get the price of dogecoin to $1. If you are unsure about what the doge meme is all about I reccomend you check out this article by knowyourmeme.
A Strong Community
One of the best things about dogecoin is one of the nicest community and most welcoming communities ever. The subreddit is always so helpful if you have any questions and has lots of kind people there who often tip small amounts of doge for original and funny content. The community has also raised dogecoin to help the Jamaican Bobsled Team go to the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia 2014. Aswell as sponsor a NASCAR driver, who at the time didn't have sponsor, and make his car into the dogecar.
Dogecoin is What I Reccomend to New Crypto Users
- Dogecoin's price isn't extremely volatile
- It is widely accepted at most websites that take payments in crypto
- It is easy to buy from exchanges
- Its light hearted and fun
- The community is very kind
Is Dogecoin Worth Investing In?
If you want to and know the risks, I would reccomend buying a small amount of dogecoin. The fact doge has thrived in the 6 years it's been since its launch mean thats its here to stay. Remember to keep your doge safe on a hardware wallet or a computer you know is clean from viruses and that only you and/or trusted people use.
