Can the Central Bank's (CBDC) digital currencies protect people's privacy?

21 May 2020 ...

22 May 2020
The entire reason for digital currencies was to move away from a 'central bank'. As it seems now, with centralized banks muscling their way to get a piece of the action, a completely digital currency system is an extremely bad idea. A great eye opening article. Thank you

Coinbase Sees DEXs as the Future in new report

15 May 2020 Abhimanyu Krishnan

When banks begin to get involved, there will be no 'decentralization'. Someone will always want to get their cut. As for Coinbase, it is ironic for them to discuss DEX when they will report your transactions to the IRS. I think for complete 'decentralization' merchants will need to entirely accept whatever coin or tokens they agree to accept as payment for services. Plus there would need to be a free use location or program to allow for trusting of online merchants so that you do not lose your money (there may be one already, but I do not know of one). Insurances against fraudulent transactions, cost money, and would ultimately centralize the payment system of using crypto. IMHO.
